125 Golfers For RC Manubhai Fiji Open

Leading hardware company RC Manubhai has put together a sponsorship value of $20,000 for the RC Manubhai Fiji Open to be played at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva, from April 23-24.
This was revealed by the company’s group general manager marketing Atish Kumar Singh during the soft launch at the Fiji Golf House on Saturday.
“After COVID, this is the first time we’re moving our golf sponsorship to Suva,” Singh said.
“The company has a strong history in sponsoring the RC Manubhai Ba Open for over 50 years and with the same commitment this year we have decided to bring this event to Suva.
“With our business history and sponsorship in sports, locally and internationally, we know there are lots of participants for our first Suva event.”
Singh said they are expecting 125 golfers to take part in the amateur and professional categories.
He said as part of the event participants should expect a surprise celebrity.
Singh said during the soft launch they gave away four Gold tickets to the Super Rugby Pacific match between the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua and the Highlanders at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, on April 30.

Meanwhile, Fiji Golf Club captain Mahendra Nair said they had 68 starters in the weekend’s competition, which was a good record.
“The club sponsored the prizes because of the RC Manubhai launch and we did not want a clash among the sponsors,” Nair said.
He indicated that it was great to see some of the top golfers out playing as they are about to pick their team for the East and West tournament set for May 29.
Nair also indicated that the Girmit tournament is set for this weekend with over 120 participants.
