Oceania Boss To Visit, Resolve Issues

The Oceania Volleyball Federation president Hugh Graham is expected to visit the country this week.
Fiji Volleyball Federation interim president Joe Gray has confirmed they have been having talks with the international parent body through the Oceania office.
He said Graham is expected to meet FVF officials, Fiji National Sports Commission and Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) president Dr Robin Mitchell.
“We are welcoming the president of Oceania who will be arriving soon,” he said.
“So whatever talks that we’re going to have with the chairman of the Fiji National Sports Commission with Dr Mitchell, we will definitely advise members of the public the outcome of the meeting.”
Gray replaced Liga Gukisuva who was elected as FVF president in August 2019 and resigned within his two-year tenure. .
The federation then made a number of recommendations to the commission and FASANOC on the formation of an interim committee to handle the affairs of Fiji Volleyball before an annual general meeting can be called.
“First and foremost, it’s just about moving forward. We cannot actually bring back or possibly fix what has happened,” Gray added.
“However, we can only learn from it, incorporate, and implement processes with good governance.
“It’s going to be an exciting year, as we hope to create a framework, confirm our constitution, hold our AGM and start having districts affiliate and register.”
