NFP Leader Walks Out On NZ Interview

National Federation Party leader Biman Prasad walked out in the middle of an interview on Radio Tarana in Auckland, New Zealand.
Mr Prasad said that he was ending the interview and claimed that presenter Pawan Rekha Prasad was talking nonsense.
Mr Prasad at the beginning of the interview said that he wanted to talk about three subjects for the election; the economy, health and education.
He claimed that Fiji had not been doing well under the FijiFirst Government led by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama for the last 15 years.
When asked about the solutions to fix the economy, Professor Biman Prasad said they would tell the people about the current situation in Fiji.
“Before COVID, the economic growth of Fiji in 2019 was negative,” Mr Prasad said.
“The position was down, and when COVID came, it went down again. Fiji was in a position where it didn’t have money.
“So, our friendly neighbour countries like Australia, New Zealand and others provided budget support,.”
When asked how he was to improve the situation, Mr Prasad refused to move beyond his version of Fiji’s problems and claimed that the presenter was talking like Fijian Broadcasting Corporation.
When the presenter asked what was in the NFP manifesto and when it would come out, Mr Prasad said that the election was yet to be held and the manifestos were yet to be done.
He also said manifestos for the other parties were yet to be released.
