ATK Mohun Bagan captain Roy Krishna confirms today his travel arrangement to the 2022 Asia Football Confederation (AFC) Cup play-off against Bangladesh’s Abahani Dhaka on April 20.

The national football skipper was in Vatulaulau, Ba, yesterday to attend the funeral of his 77-year-old mother-in-law, Sereana Mataka.

Taking time after the funeral, Roy said his club thrashed Sri Lanka’s Blue Star 5-0 to seal a qualification berth for the AFC.

“We are optimistic of making the cut,” he said.

Roy said he would communicate with his club officials today on his travel arrangements.

“The club knows that we just have a funeral in the family right now,” he said.

“The club is likely to contact me tomorrow on the next plan on either to travel and play in the next play-off,” he said yesterday.

He added that there were a lot of positives gained from the Oceania qualifiers and it has boosted the team’s preparations for the Pacific Mini Games in Saipan, Northern Mariana.
