Krishna Strikes Equaliser To Keep Namaka’s Hopes Alive

Ravi Krishna rescued his Namaka side from the brink of defeat as they held Nasinu 1-1 in the TIV Sangam Interdistrict Championship at Churchill Park, Lautoka, on Friday night. Krishna scored the equaliser in the 34th minute, after Nasinu took the lead in the 16th minute through a Avineel Chand strike. Namaka captain Shonal Nadan said they are coming to the four-day tournament with confidence of proving critics wrong.

Ravi Krishna rescued his Namaka side from the brink of defeat as they held Nasinu 1-1 in the TIV Sangam Interdistrict Championship at Churchill Park, Lautoka, on Friday night.

Krishna scored the equaliser in the 34th minute, after Nasinu took the lead in the 16th minute through a Avineel Chand strike. Namaka captain Shonal Nadan said they are coming to the four-day tournament with confidence of proving critics wrong.

“We will hit the drawing board and work on our next match,” Nandan said.
In the other match, the All Freight Logistics sponsored- Nadi side trounced Suva 3-0. Goals were scored by Rewa defender Kishan Sami, Nadi’s Rahul Krishna, and Muni Naicker.
Nadi TIV team manager Sanjip Reddy said, his players stuck to the game plan.

“We have to pump in more energy and we were able to function well. Our next match is against Rakiraki which we’ll be a tough one.”
In another pulsating match, Malolo hammered Rakiraki 3-0 in a one-sided affair. They now take Suva in their pool decider.

Malolo’s first goal came after a Rakiraki defender misdirected his kick and the ball hit the back of the net. The other two goals were scored by Krishneel Nair and Avnil Kumar.

Malolo vice-captain Pranil Sami said, “The win was a great effort and has further strengthened the team. We are playing Suva next and we have some key areas to work on.”
