No One In Custody Yet Over Meth Lab Discovery

No one has been taken into Police custody yet in relation to the methamphetamine processing laboratory discovered on Denarau, Nadi on Wednesday.
However, Commissioner of Police, Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho, said the person of interest in the case was someone that Police had their eyes on for a number of years.
He said they were in the early stages of the investigation and wanted to gather all the forensics evidence that they could before making an arrest.
“My plea is for the media and people not to put undue pressure on the investigators by making comments. Let the investigation run its course and only then can we come to some decisive conclusion of the actions we need to take in regards to that incident,” he said.
“Producing meth is more refined now and people have been through the process over the years. It’s become a more refined process now that people can do it on a smaller scale compared to the big labs that we encountered like the one that was caught in Laucala Beach and the one that was caught in the nightclub in Nadi.”
