Matteo Dressino has done International School Nadi proud after achieving a near perfect graduation score of 44/45.

His results placed him among the top six per cent of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma candidates worldwide, surpassing the global average of 32 points.

Matteo is the son of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay general manager Silvano Dressino.

He was presented with the Dux Award for International School Nadi (ISN) in recognition of his academic achievements.

“I would like to thank my parents and teachers for supporting me during my Diploma years,” he said from Germany.

He thanked his classmates and friends who made his last two years of high-school memorable.

Matteo has been offered an internship in the communications department of a multinational company.

He will start his university studies in Europe this September and hopes to study International Relations or Politics, Psychology, Law, and Economics.

“While I miss Fiji, I am excited for the next steps starting university, but I look forward to coming back to meet my family and friends,” he said.

His mother, Katrin Dressino said Matteo’s teachers played a big part, especially in the past year where it was so difficult.

“His wonderful teachers were challenging him to give his best and always supported him when needed,” she said.

ISN principal Hannah Uluinakauvadra said the superb result was a testament to his hard work, dedication and perseverance throughout the programme.

As part of ISN’s continued effort to contribute to local communities and to help develop Fiji’s future leaders; ISB Nadi is offering partial scholarship opportunities this year.

Eligible students can apply for the partial scholarship if students were born in Fiji between 2006 or 2007.

Furthermore, the IB Diploma Programme offered at ISN is a rigorous and balanced programme of education designed to prepare students for success at university and beyond.

ISN is a non-profit organisation.

All funds received are used to cover school operating expenses including IB membership, stationary supplies, software subscriptions, security services, IT equipment & Wi-Fi, Insurance for property & staff, training, and professional development of staff members.
