Ratepayers Support Council In Bid To Complete Lautoka City Projects

Lautoka and Ba Board of Special Administrators Chair, Anil Amin said there would be a meeting soon with special administrators to speed up pending Lautoka City projects.
Meanwhile, three weeks ago, Lautoka Residents and Ratepayers Association President, Narayan Reddy, met with the Board of Special Administrators and their discussions focused on the completion of these pending projects.
Some issues that came up during the meeting include:
– The development of Lautoka and the unpaid rates.
– The Coffee Shop at the Botanical Garden
– The incomplete swimming pool
– The upgrading of the Lautoka Bus Station
“We asked the Lautoka City Council CEO and the team of special administrators to give us the names of those with pending rate payments so we can go talk to them to find out why they aren’t paying up and how we can minimise the city rates,” Mr Reddy said.
“We have asked the council to go back and ask the people what they want, what projects they would like in Lautoka.”
Numerous phone calls made to the LCC Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Anees Khan were answered.
