Tawake Reassures Fijiana 7s Players

Fiji Rugby Union chairman Humphrey Tawake reassured members of the Fijiana sevens team that they have the support of Fiji Rugby Union and the rugby community.
Tawake paid a courtesy visit at their Pacific Theological College camp on Tuesday.
Tawake said the Fijiana sevens side have been inspiring, leading the way for women in rugby participation following their Olympic bronze win.
They fly out on Saturday for the women’s HSBC series in Langford, Canada on April 30 to May 1.
“I think it’s important to come and appreciate what the Fijiana have done so far in their preparation and wish them well,” Tawake said.
“It requires support from all Fijians, to appreciate the sacrifice and hard work they have done in their preparation and encourage them for the next leg.
“Having had the success in the Olympics and the current Fijiana Drua in the Super W it’s only befitting that Fiji Rugby leadership come down and convey the message to the ladies that the nation is always behind them and their families and the rugby community at large.
“I know it’s not an easy task,” he added.
Langford 7s in Canada kicks off on April 30-May 1 while the Toulouse 7s in France from May 20-22 will also include the men’s 7s series
