$46 Million Pumped Into Development Of Province

The FijiFirst Government has spent more than $46million on development projects in the Namosi Province alone from 2014 to 2021.
This was the revelation by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while opening the Namosi Provincial Council meeting held at Veivatuloa Village yesterday.
Mr Bainimarama said the development projects included more than $20million for roads, more than $12million for the health sector, more than $3million each for electrification and social welfare and more than $2million for water projects.
“You can see that progress around you,” he said.
“You have road access that reaches Wainilotulevu Village, a new Nakavu Bridge; a new Navua Hospital outfitted with all the proper equipment; a new grid extension from Namosi Village to Naraiyawa; house wiring through the Nukusere Village solar project and a grid extension from Namuamua, Nakavika, Vunidavo and Wainiyavu.
“A new Government station at Dada, and rural water infrastructure in 13 villages and three ecological purification systems for Waivaka, Navunikabi and Namosi Village.
“You feel that progress through the social protection programmes we have funded for your people’s benefit.”
Critics have no solutions
Mr Bainimarama also brushed aside Government critics who he said had no practical solutions to issues faced by Fijians.
“You won’t hear these practical solutions from our critics, because they have none,” he said.
“They will only brush our progress aside and distract you with lies that are meant to scare you into supporting them in their quest for power.
“But you are rational, intelligent people and I ask you to look at the facts, the facts speak for themselves.
“They say that iTaukei land has never been more secure, more valuable and better able to produce income and wealth than it is right now, and we did that.”
