Nadroga Netball Coach Calls For Competition For Youths

Nadroga Under-21 netball coach, Sailasa Cagi, has applauded Netball Fiji for providing a national platform to expose the talents of youth players.
The Nadroga Netball Association fielded two teams for the two-day PacAus Sports Fiji Netball Youth Championship at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
“This is a good exposure for the girls, great experience and on top that playing with the girls from Suva where they get to learn more,” Cagi said.
“In Nadroga, we played amongst other teams, so coming to Suva there is a lot of challenge from these teams. The girls are coping and getting experienced which I think will build their netball skills.”
Despite their loss in the first rounds of games, he is hopeful that some of his players could impress the national selectors.
“We have spotted a few of our players from both teams and we are hopeful that they will be selected,” he said.
“They are not just under-21, some of these girls are 15 and 16-year-olds so this tournament is really great for them to learn more. We hope to get more competitions for the youths in future,” Cagi added. The NNA has four players who are part of the senior Fijian Pearls extended squad.
