Temple Break-In Forces Organisations To Resort To Daily Banking

Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji national president Sarju Prasad is advising all temple managements to do daily banking.
His advice follows after a third break-in at Nagigi Naag Temple in Labasa last Friday.
Mr Prasad strongly condemned the action by selfish people.
“While it is not easy to change some people’s mindset, we must be proactive, thus my advice to temple management is to do daily banking,” he said.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed receiving a report of an attempted burglary into the temple between 8pm to 9pm.
“So far no arrest has been made and investigation is ongoing,” Ms Naisoro said.
Mr Prasad said houses of worship were sacred places and should be respected at all times.
“Nagigi Naag Mandir is the world’s renowned temple as people from different countries offer their prayers and respect,” he said.
“Many are well aware that visitors apart from Hindu devotees make cash donations.
“I understand this kind of break-in and robbery can hurt the souls of devotees.”
He said while hiring of security services could be a costly affair, he requested the Fiji Police Force to carry out regular patrols around the temples.
