Wane Moli Veiba is confident about leading her proposed New Generation Party into the political arena.

“One thing that made me take up the challenge is my passion for the people,” she said.

“I love helping people and being the voice for the voiceless.

“You will notice that I am a woman being put as the president and I feel and believe that now is our time for women and whatever men can do, we women can do the same.”

Ms Veiba, 36, is an accountant by profession having graduated from the Pacific Adventist University in Papua New Guinea.

The former civil servant hails from Naboutini Village in Saqani, Cakaudrove in Vanua Levu and shares maternal links to Nagado Village in Nadi.

She later joined Fulton College in Sabeto as an accountant.

Ms Veiba then resigned from Fulton College to become a secondary school teacher. She resigned in September last year and has been home since then looking after her children.

“At the moment, I am a stay-home mum looking after my children; this is due to COVID-19,” she said.

The proposed party’s registered officer, Frederick Babitu Kataiwai, 35, is also an accountant by profession.

Mr Kataiwai, is from Matuku Island in the Lau Group. He shares maternal links to Vuna Village on Taveuni.

Now he provides consultancy work for Live and Learn in Vanuatu.

“I now look forward to the results of our application,” Mr Kataiwai said.

The remaining members are: Vice president, Babitu Ledua, personnel manager, Simione Leitabu, treasurer, Ranjina Kaur and the compliance/internal auditor, Ratu Isireli Dausiga.

The vision of the proposed party – A modern era driven by principled leaders who value respect for human rights, inclusivity and diverse voices in nation building.

Mission of the proposed party – Uniting and committing the people to rebuilding a nation that protects human rights and values where there is no repression or fear.
