Serevi: Fijian Drua Will Only Get Better

Sevens maestro Waisale Serevi strongly believes the Super Rugby journey of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will only get better in time.
After 25 years, Fiji can boast of having a Super Rugby team, something that former rugby players had always anticipated.
Serevi believes the time is right for Fijian rugby to turn a new chapter in the sport that is second to the people’s faith.
Serevi was part of a panel discussion at the Drua Experience event alongside Fiji Airways Fijian men’s sevens head coach Ben Gollings and Flying Fijians head coach, Vern Cotter, before the start of the Drua and Highlanders clash last Saturday.
“What has happened in Fijian rugby for the past couple of years has opened doors to the set-up what we have now,” he said.
Serevi commended the pathway set by the Fiji Rugby Union, allowing the Drua reps to level up to the best teams in Super Rugby.
“There are a lots of Fijian players who would love to play for Fiji.
“The Drua has been in camp in Australia for the past five months, they’ve been sleeping at the right time, eating the right food, training in the gym and the skills they’ve displayed in the past games show that we are going on the right track.”
Serevi urged the young players in the Drua squad to set their goals and work towards achieving them.
“You have to remember who you are representing on and off the field,” he added.
