PA Names Second Batch Of Provisional Candidates

The People’s Alliance (PA) party named its second batch of 12 provisional candidates at the Nadi Civic Centre last night.
The first batch of candidates named last week included Party leader Sitiveni Rabuka and deputy leader, Manoa Kamikamica, general secretary, Sakiasi Ditoka, TISI Sangam president, Sadasivan Naicker, lawyers Lynda Tabuya and Filimoni Vosarogo, Jessica Naevo, Daniel Lobendahn, Lavinia Kaumaitotoya, former Sikh community leader Pritam Singh Shokar, Sajal Narayan and Jalesi Nakarawa.
Mr Rabuka said this was not a deliberate picking of people he knew, as the list of candidates chosen were chosen through a structured system and interviewed after they had applied. He also thanked his colleagues in the selection panel
“It’s up to me now to lead them and lead the nation to victory and to govern Fiji,” he said.
“I am confident that we have selected a very strong team as I said last week, we will announce 75 names. We are very transparent, we will listen to all the complaints and objections and the final say will come from the Supervisor of Elections.”
