The newly appointed Jai Narayan College student heads are aiming to keep the momentum of their school going strong.

The school’s head boy, Jasveen Singh and head girl, Tannistha Chandra both believe that they could uplift the school’s name even further by making sure all students respect the law.

Tannistha wants to focus on bettering the student learning environment so that they excel in their studies.

“I want to focus on academics. Our school is academically focused so it is important that as prefects we must allow learning in classrooms we tend to. Students in higher forms must also seek advice from prefects when they are being supervised.”

She added that she wanted to normalise talks on menstruation as young women were bound to go through the cycle.

“I also want to work with the school to address issues that they might be facing.”

As for Jasveen, he said it was important to uphold the school momentum as past student heads have gone the extra mile to help students do ‘exceptionally well’ in their studies.

“Discipline is something I’m looking into this year. I want to make sure that students adhere to what the school has set.

“If someone is going through something, whatever it may be, I will have to privately talk to the person so that his issues are addressed.”

The duo would lead close to 800 students this year.
