Brent Hill: Super Exciting Fijian Tourism Expo

The stage is set for what is to be the start of a spectacular three-day Fijian Tourism Expo at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort.
Players in Fiji’s tourism sector, small and big, inter national buyers and media will converge at the Denarau Island Conference Centre tonight
for the opening of the much anticipated premier event.
But earlier in the day, registration for the event is between 9am to 4:30pm followed by complimentary shuttles from Denarau Hotels to
Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort.
Between 6pm to 7pm the opening ceremony will take place at the resort’s Golden Ballroom followed by the opening event function at the
resort’s Sandy Point.
Commenting on the event which will be hosted after two years, Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Officer Brent Hill said they were ‘super excited
about this event’.
“This will be the first face-to-face expo we’ve had in two years!” he said.
“It’s an exciting time for our industry to rekindle their business relationships and of course, create new ones too!”
“We realise that not all tourism businesses in Fiji can afford to travel abroad to attend inter national roadshows and events where they meet buyers.
“This event brings the buyers to Fiji and allows them to meet with our industry locally and that’s for us is the best result and outcome especially as we begin to rebuild our tourism industry once again.”
And just in time for the Fijian Tourism Expo, Tourism Fiji on Friday launched its fresh-look corporate website.
“Having a corporate presence online is important for any organisation,” Mr Hill said.
“We’re the peak Tourism Body for the sector so it makes sense for us to have a site that is easily accessible by anyone wanting to learn more about the critical role we play across the country.
“It’s not the first time we’ve had a corporate presence online, it’s simply a refreshed look and feel.
“We’ll continue to keep it updated Water park being set up. Photo: Name with research, insights and how we’re performing when it comes to driving inter national demand for the destination.”

Below is an excerpt interview with Mr Hill.
What Can Businesses Expect From This Website?
Our corporate presence serves multiple purposes.
It’s used to share news about the important work we do, it can be a place for potential employees to learn more about our organisation and our industry stakeholders and international partners can use it to learn more about market insights, research and profiles of our international source markets.
As we learn more about post-pandemic market conditions, we’ll be sure to update the site with more info.
When Did It Launch And How Many Visitors Have You Garnered So Far?
We did a soft launch on Friday 6th May.
Our team are still monitoring the stability of the site following go live and we’ll continue to work on ways to drive more users to the site as time goes on.
It’s important for people to learn more about the important work we do here, and the site is a great resource for that now that it’s been refreshed.
What Is The Matai 2.0 Version As Mentioned In Mr Hill’s Post?
Matai 2.0 is simply a Learning Management System we developed for our inter national travel agents as travel restrictions continue to ease.
It’s important for us to continue to educate our inter national travel agents about everything Fiji has to offer.
The better they understand how equipped and prepared we are to welcome travellers again, alongside the depth of experiences here in Fiji, the better they can add value to their customers when selling Fiji.
How Will The Website Be Used in the FTE Which Of Course, Starts Tomorrow?
The site can be used as a resource to learn more about the event.
