Visiting places outside of Viti Levu is on the bucket list for former cabin crew Isei Erenavula.

He was born and grew up in the tourist town of Nadi and has never been to any of the islands outside of the main island.

The Narewa native now manages the Opium Bar Fiji.

He used to work at O’Reilly’s Bar (now Shenanigans Nightclub) before he joined Fiji Airways as a cabin crew.

With that experience in the bag, the owner of Opium gave him a call after he was laid off during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic when everything came to a standstill.

Mr Erenavula has travelled to many countries during his tenure as a cabin crew and when on leave, he would travel to places where the airline Fiji Airways did not go to.

His favourite spot would be Kingston Town, Jamaica for its history on the reggae musician Bob Marley.

Below is an excerpt interview with Mr Erenavula.

How many places have you visited baround Fiji?
I have never been outside of Viti Levu.

But since I grew up in Narewa, Nadi, I frequented Denarau.

Most of the employees are from the village, going to Denarau is like going to my second village.

What is the one place in Fiji you would take visitors to, and why?
For me I would let visitors go for a cruise on South Sea Cruisers and can visit a lot of places.

What is one place in Fiji that remains on your bucket list, and why?
To travel outside of Viti Levu and maybe to Savusavu one day and find out for myself why it is called the “Hidden Paradise”, and might even go on the South Sea Cruises to achieve this goal.
