Student Heads Focus On School Discipline

Xavier College head girl, Salihah Nisha and head boy, Ivan Alfred, plan to instil discipline in their school.
The pair of student leaders also intend to carry on the great legacy of the school.
Salihah, 17, and Rotuman native and Ivan, 18, were inducted during the school’s prefects’ induction ceremony in Ba last week.
A total of 32 school prefects and six officials were elected.
It was also a proud moment for Ivan, he became a leader, much like many members of his family did over the years at different schools.
“I feel nostalgic; my brother was the first assistant head boy in his year and I was the second assistant head boy last year and now I am the head boy,” he said.
“I am also honoured to be the first in the family to be head boy.”
He also acknowledged his parents and siblings for their ongoing support. Ivan is also focused on working to help students with their academics.
For Salihah, the honour of being badged as head girl was a dream come true.
She follows in the footsteps of her sister, former head girl, Aliha. Aliha was the school’s head girl in 2018.
“I am feeling proud and motivated to be the head girl of this prestigious college as Xavier is one of the best schools in Fiji,” she said.
She said the student body council would work together to maintain the discipline.
The school’s roll is 768.
