Head Prefects Ready To Lead

Gram Sangathan School head boy, Jekope Rasaubale says his leadership qualities will help him provide a better life for his family.
The 13-year-old was among the 30 student leaders who were badged at the Nausori-based school on Tuesday. The student leaders included year captains, school prefects and general prefects.
Jekope and head girl, Alumeci Qele would be leading 190 students for the 2022 academic year.
Jekope said his parents and grandmother had worked hard to educate him and he wanted to provide them a better standard of living by finding a good job.
“My father is a cleaner at CWM Hospital, and my grandmother does everything for me like cooking and ironing my clothes,” he said.
“I will study hard and become a Police Officer when I grow up.”
He dedicated his achievement to his grandmother and his parents.
Meanwhile, 12-year-old Alumeci wished her father was present to witness her induction.
He had travelled to Australia for a few months for military training.
“I wish my dad was here to witness my induction. When I told my dad that I will be badged the head girl, he reminded me to be a good role model and work hard at school,” she said.
“I want to be a good role model by understanding the children’s troubles and I am the first in my family to be given this role.”
