Coach Delai Advises Mocekinasau To Switch

Suva Grammar School sprinter Tevita Mocekinasau is hopeful for a good outing at the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Finals (Fiji Finals) in July.
The Wainadiro, Serua sprinter shares maternal links to Nasoqo, Namosi.
Mocekinasau won the senior boys 200 metres with a time of 22.17 seconds.
The former St Johns College student has switched yesterday and was running the 100 and 200 metres for the time.
“I usually run in the long distance; 400m and 800m,” Mocekisau said.
“When I came to Suva Grammar last year coach Jone Delai advised me to try sprint.”
Looking at his possible blue ribbon contenders from Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, he indicated that the Coca- Cola Games will be tough.
“Despite winning the 200 metres final, I did not like the time I set. I hope to improve in the zone competition.
“With the games back after two years I know it will be a tough competition but I have faith that I will do my best.”
Mocekisau indicated he has his eyes set for the 2023 Pacific Games in Solomon Islands.
Meanwhile, the Coca-Cola Games will be held at the ANZ Stadium from July 7 to 9.
