The 26-19 loss to Rami Sami Suva in their Skipper Fiji Rugby Championship clash at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, today did not deter Nadroga rugby coach Etonia Naba.

Speaking to SUNsports, the former national rugby 7s forward said despite the wet weather he was proud of how his young players performed against the defending champions.

“We’ll have to lift our game as the competition goes on,” Naba said.

Rookie Nadroga winger Taniela Rakuro scored two tries in the first half with Jack Volavola landing one conversion.

Suva also scored two tries to prop Mateo Qolisese with Malele kicking over one conversion as they were ties 12-12 at halftime.

The big Suva forwards controlled the match in the second half with tries to Qolisese and No.8 Kolinio Tamanitoakula while Nadroga managed only a try.

Malele had his kicking boots on as he converted both tries.
