Fiji Airways Fijian 7s assistant coach Viliame Satala believes the players will rise to the occasion in this weekend’s France 7s in Toulouse.

The Fijians have been strengthened by the inclusion of seasoned campaigners like Semi Kuntani, Napolioni Bolaca and Sevuloni Mocenacagi.

Also, they have brought back promising Manueli Maisamoa and utility Filipe Sauturaga.

“These players have forced their way into the team, the boys have trained well,” Satala said.

He however, added that this tournament would be tough.

“All teams have been improving. They have been working hard for the Commonwealth Games and the Rugby World Cup Sevens.”

Fiji are in Pool B along with hosts France, Wales and Kenya.

Satala has called on fans to keep supporting the team.

Similar sentiment was echoed by captain Tevita Daugunu indicating that they need to deliver the goods.

“We know the best way to prepare is to work hard and we worked hard every day,” Daugunu said.

“We pushed each other during. We are ready for the France and London tournaments.

“For our training the main focus was on our on defence and retaining the kick off.

“We have polished that area really well. Just like every team we have prepared well and we are prepared to win.”

Meanwhile, the Fijian men play their pool opener against Kenya on Saturday at 12.34am, then Wales at 8.33am and France on Sunday at 12.34am.
