A Dream Come True For Sant, Opens Restaurant In Lautoka

The newly Grill King Restaurant at The Hub in Lautoka opened its doors on Saturday.
It was always the dream of 48-year-old, Raj Sant to own a restaurant one day as he always admired serving people with respect when in a public area.
Originally from Waiqele in Labasa, Mr Sant said that a substantial amount of funds was used to open the restaurant.
Mr Sant is also the director of Waste Clear West Fiji Limited.
Grill King Restaurant is his first business venture.
“The idea came to light when my friend was shutting down his chain of restaurants in Suva last year so then I bought a set of equipment from him and that’s how I started planning to open this restaurant,” said Mr Sant.
“There are three Indian restaurants here at the Lautoka Hub, my signature dish is peri peri chicken, it is not something which Fijians eat every day, it is something different which I am ready to offer to the people of the Sugar City.”
The restaurant, located next to The Stadium View has a seating for 40 people inside and 40 people outside.
It employs five Fijians and there are plans to employ more once the business expands.
“The restaurant currently operates from 11am to 8.30pm daily serving lunch and dinner.”
“We will include breakfast in the menu later,” he added.
Mr Sant said plans were in the pipeline to offer home delivery services and to open more restaurants around the country.
