There will be no Triple N zone meet this year.

This was confirmed by zone delegate Akuila Tawake as the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Committee await a confirmed date from the Ministry of Education.

The Triple N Zone included schools from Naitasiri, Nausori and Nakasi like girls champion Adi Cakobau School, Sila Central High School, Lomaivuna High School and Naitasiri Secondary School.

“We were given the option to hold the zones or not,” he said.

“So we have decided not to have the Triple N Zone during our last zone meeting. However, we will participate in the Coca-Cola Games.

“They are still shifting the Coca-Cola games date. Up until now, they still have not confirmed so, we made our decision based on that.”

Tawake said schools were encouraged to continue its preparations and hold its respective time trials to qualify for the Fiji finals.

“When the games is confirmed then the due date of the entries will be confirmed with students who has qualified using the standard time,” he added.

Meanwhile, Suva Zone will be held on June 15 at ANZ Stadium. Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics president Marika Uluinaceva said: “The Ministry has not confirmed any date yet. The dates we proposed has been booked by Fiji rugby and Fiji football.

“Churchill Park is also booked. We have given some dates to the Minister (for Education, Premila Kumar) who will confirm the actual dates.”
