Escott Shield Next On Naqarani’s List
Naqarani is the new holders of the Suva Rugby Union’s Digicel Koroturaga Cup after beating newcomers Lakeba 14-10 at Albert Park, Suva, today.
The side has been part of the competition for the past three years.
Naqarani assistant coach Viliame Nodrakoro said the win was through the hardwork of his young side.
The team was inspired by the inclusion of Flying Fijians reps Serupepeli Vularika and Onisi Ratave.
“It took guts for us to win this game,” Nodrakoro said.
“We are grateful for the win. Now it’s on to the next challenge. We know the Escott Shield competition will be a tough one but we are up for the challenge next season.
“Vularika and Ratave are mentors to these young side and I know we are breeding more national reps in this side.”
Nodrakoro also acknowledged the support from Naqarani villagers locally and abroad.
