Fijian Drua Reps For Birmingham Games?

The Fiji Airways 7s team has a mission – to win gold at the XXII Commonwealth Games in England.
To do that, the coaching staff plans to bring in some players from the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua squad.
“We are trying to get a few Drua players, but it will also depend on their availability,” assistant 7s coach Viliame Satala said.
“Talks have started. Some players will be named sometime this week or next week for the 30-member squad for the Commonwealth Games.”
Gareth Baber and his men won silver at the 2018 Games in Gold Coast, Australia. But Satala believes the current team can win gold in Birmingham.
“This year, we are trying to get one good combination to try and win gold for Fiji at the Commonwealth Games,” the former Flying Fijians and 7s star said.
“We know that Australia, Africa and Argentina are leading the series. We have been trying to get the right combination because some players in the team are playing for the first time in the series.”
He also pointed out that positions in the team were not guaranteed, meaning all players must work hard for their positions.
The 7s team are on a week-long break. The team returns to camp next week.
