Swire Shipping Fijian Drua winger Vinaya ‘Bossman’ Habosi is ready for his next assignment.

The Nayawa, Nadroga native is happy to be selected by Flying Fijian head Vern Cotter early this week in the 34-member squad to compete in the 2022 Pacific Nations Cup from July 2-16.

Habosi, a former 7s rep is known for his agility and line breaks for the Drua side in the Super Rugby Pasifica.

“This is another great chance for me to perform for the Flying Fijians, and try out some huge names in the side,” he said.

“You just have to embrace this chance to advance with it. It is a chance to work harder as well.

Habosi said having to rub shoulders with players such as Josua ‘the bus’ Tuisova, Waisea Nayacalevu, Levani Botia and team mate from Nadroumai, Kalaveti Ravouvou will be a good learning experience.

“It is a challenge and good to learn from them. We are fresh kids on the block and those brothers have played professional rugby players for many years.

His uncle Iliavi Kato said the village was happy with his sacrifice.

For now, Habosi attends gym sessions at Lawaqa Park. His afternoon includes touch rugby with his peers at the village rara, this was where his path to stardom began.
