Brewery Supports Nahehevia Sevens

Money raised from the first Fiji Bitter Nahehevia Sevens tournament will be directed to the villages’ education project.
About 48 men’s teams, eight women’s netball teams, 24 volleyball teams and 20 Futsal 5-a-side teams will take part in a tournament set for August 11-13 at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Paradise Beverages general manager sales and corporate affairs Joe Rodan (Snr) said the tournament is for a worthy cause.
“The purpose of this tournament is good because we are assisting the people of Nahehevia help improve their children’s studies,” he said.
“I believe they have plans to buy a land in Suva to build a hostel to provide accommodation for their children who come for studies in Suva.
“This is for a good purpose because it involves the future of children back in the villages.
“The project will benefit students from Waicoba, Nasovatava and Vagadra in the interior of Nadroga, along the Ba and Nadroga border.”
France based-player and Waicoba native Uwa Tawalo thanked Paradise Beverages for its support.
“Through such support we are able to achieve our goals.
“We know there’s a lot of clubs that want their support and dream to stage a tournament like such.
“One of the projects is to support Nahehevia Rugby who has also contributed some players like Apisai Turukawa, Peceli Yato and Rusiate Nasove to Fiji Rugby.”
