‘The Phantom’ Eyes Title Fight

Sikeli ‘The Phantom’ Senidoko has done all the hardwork and is ready to face Siliveni Nawai, in today’s main bout at the American International School Hall, Nadi backroad (opposite the LTA office).
The Matainasau, Wainimala, Naitasiri native had been training hard for the eight- round clash.
He tipped the scale at 84.3 kilogrammes during the official weigh-in at Nair’s Dais in Nadi yesterday while Nawai was at 82kg.
“I’ve not fought Nawai before,” Senidoko said.
“I’ve been preparing for over a month.
“I was aiming for Alivereti Kauyaca but when he pulled out it did not change my preparation plans.
“It will be a good fight and my fans should come and watch. I want a win because I’ll challenge the Fiji light heavyweight belt in August.”
However, Nawai said despite fighting in the light heavyweight division for the first time, he has already mapped out a plan on how to handle Senidoko.
For the vacant Fijian Super Flyweight title, Junior Binnu Singh said he would do his talking in the ring against veteran Ritesh Goundar.
Boxing Commission of Fiji director West Usman ‘Lale’ Ali said it was great to see boxing happening again.
“This is something the fans have been waiting for,” he said.
Promoter Freddy Chand called on fans to buy their tickets early as they have 800 seating capacity at the venue.
“I don’t want fans to be disappointed at the gate,” he added.
The programme starts at 3pm.
