Five Squares, a retail outlet that sells household furniture and white goods, launched Ezy Credit – a lay buy plan where customers pay credit interest rate of 16 per cent on hire purchase.

Company’s group Chief Executive Officer, Anil Senewiratne, said a lot of customers had asked for hire purchase arrangements.

“After identifying the need for hire purchasing in the market, our team worked to launch this new product,” he said.

Mr Senewiratne said the 16 per cent interest rate on hire purchase  was the lowest in the market.

“It has become very affordable for the customers to purchase anything for their household needs.

“If they are looking for a television set, washing machine, refrigerator.”

“To complement the 16 per cent on hire purchase, we have a 16 per cent discount for our in store range.”

Groundbreaking

“A soft launch in our Sigatoka branch brought with it a host of credit applications,” he said.

“This is a great opportunity,” Mr Senewitratne said.

“I am sure it is groundbreaking for the market in Fiji to get 16 per cent on hire purchase,” he said.

Meanwhile, Five Squares rewarded three winners with prize certificates from Fiji Airways.

Each certificate was for a trip to Australia with $1000 spending  money.

This was for their Easter Platinum Deals Trip to Australia promotion.

One winner, Vineel Chand, 28, of Nausori, said he was planning to take his mother for this trip.

Ronald Kumar, another winner, is a frequent traveller.

However, winning something was exciting and new for him.

He said Five Squares provided a win-win situation through its promotion.

“This is what good customer service is all about,” Mr Kumar said.

“It also encourages customer-loyalty.”
