Security and stability for the people of Fiji will result in prosperity when we provide the conducive environment, so we need to always get things right.

This was the strong message relayed to police officers by Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho during a talanoa session last week.

The session was for officers of and above the rank of Acting Inspector of Police.

The session saw officers from the Central, Southern and Eastern Division meet with the Commissioner of Police and senior command at the Fiji Police Academy, where they were able to openly discuss issues from the middle to senior management levels.

“Station officers are our hands to people on the ground,” Mr Qiliho said.

“All of us here, including me, are only here to support you. Support you administratively, logistically, support you with clear cut policies and targets. Otherwise the people that get their hands dirty on the ground are you.”
