‘Finally It’s Happening’

The Team Fiji contingent arrived safely in Saipan to compete in the Pacific Mini Games 2022. It will officially open on Friday.

The Team Fiji contingent arrived safely in Saipan to compete in the Pacific Mini Games 2022. It will officially open on Friday.

According to FASANOC,Team Fiji athletes and officials went through customs and immigration before they were cleared to leave for the Games Village.

They rested yesterday and start their training today as they await the arrival of team members from Australia.

Team Fiji was among the six of the 20 countries and territories that arrived in the weekend.

The other countries are Palau,Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tonga and Papua New Guinea.

The first team to arrive last Saturday was Palau whose delegation consisted of 80 athletes and officials.

They have already been to the venues and are training at the newly renovated Tan Ko Palacios baseball field, Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games CEO Ben Babauta said.

According to the Mariana Variety News, the Papua New Guinea delegation, had over 130 individuals. They arrived on Sunday morning, while the delegations of Fiji, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tonga, with nearly 200 members, arrived late Sunday afternoon (early Monday morning Fiji time).

“It’s happening!” Babauta said.

“Games on so I would like to remind everyone in the islands to be the ‘host of the most.’

The Pacific Mini Games, which the CNMI will host for the first time, will start on June 17, Friday, and ends on Saturday, June 25.
