SODELPA general secretary Lenaitasi Duru has called on the Leader of Opposition, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, to resign if he was undecided.

This came after Ratu Naiqama went silent as to why he was at The People’s Alliance head office at Knolly Street in Suva, and met officials there last week.

It is not clear what transpired in that meeting, but it is understood that there was discussion about moving to The People’s Alliance after the writ of election was issued and Ratu Naiqama is expected to take many supporters with him.

Mr Duru said they had not approached Ratu Naiqama for an explanation.

“I don’t think there is a need for us to ask him for an explanation and he has not offered any explanation either,” Mr Duru said.

“He needs to explain himself without us asking him for one. Why hold onto his position because he is undecided. He can just resign and leave.”

Mr Duru said Ratu Naiqama’s loyalty was being questioned.

Fiji Sun called Ratu Naiqama for an interview but when he heard who was calling he ended the call.
