Rova, Vakasama Off To Budapest

Olympians Cheyenne Rova and Taichi Vakasama left on Monday to compete in the FINA (Federation Internationale De Natation) World Championships which starts today in Budapest, Hungary.
The championship will end on June 26 and they will be competing in two events.
Fiji Swimming president Ben Rova confirmed the duo would train in the United Kingdom after the competition to continue their preparation for the Commonwealth Games, which is from July 28-August 8.
The rest of the swimmers would join them around July 21.
“It would be expensive if we send them back after the championship, so they are fortunate to continue training in the UK,” he said.
“They will have access to 50-metre pool and other facilities.
“They left with team manager, Lucy Erasito, while their coach Marlene Vuniwaqa is awaiting her visa.
“We are working on logistics to have the rest of the team train in Australia before the Games but that will be confirmed later,” Rova added.
A team of eight swimmers including Cheyenne and Vakasama will represent Fiji at the Birmingham Games.
Other swimmers are Kelera Mudunasoko, Rosemarie Rova, Hansel McCaig, Temafa Yalimaiwai, Herbert Rabua and US-based David Young.
Team Fiji swimming is coached by Rosemary Rova at the Commonwealth Games while Lucy Erasito is the manageress.
