Professional golfer Guy Wall loves to play at the majestic Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course.

He is part of the players competing at the Vuksich & Borich sponsored- PGA Legends Tour which got underway at the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course on Tuesday.

Wall said the weather was just perfect, lows at night of 20 degrees up to a maximum of 30 degrees, all day every day.

“Natadola, which is in as good condition as I’ve seen. The only issue out here, as always, is wind. Yep it was windy, as much as two clubs at times,” he said.

“If you love golf and love a challenge then Natadola has to be on your bucket list.”

Pacific Golf Management director Richard Ellis said, “It’s like a festival golf here in Fiji. We had the Sheraton Classics 2022 last week which was $100,000 in prize money.

“This tournament is sponsored by one of the local companies Vuksich and Borich, they are putting up AUD$50,000 (FJ$76,000) for the seniors to compete at.”

He added some more top players are coming in from the Australasian Seniors tour.

“This is one of the marquee events on that tour. So they’re spreading their wings on the Australasian tour as well into Fiji. It’s so good for me,” said Ellis who is also a professional golfer

Natadola Bay Championship Golf course Operation manager Avinesh Datt said: “What a great day it was to host the PGA Legends Tour 2022 with a record field of 131 players competing in this event.

“Good to see some players enjoying the breathtaking views of Natadola and enjoying their game too. Happy golfing,” he said.

Datt added more events to follow as soon as they are fully operational.

PGA’s Andy Rogers is the coordinator of the event.

Meanwhile, round two of the competition will resume at the Denarau Championship Golf Course, this morning.

DGRC manager Amitesh Chandra said the course is in tip top conditions.
