Staff is an important part of any organisation’s success.

If they are happy then they will be productive and they can deliver better results.

Post Fiji Pte Limited Chief Executive Officer Anirudha Bansod said, this while announcing the bonus payment for Post Fiji staff yesterday.

The three per cent adjustment bonus precedes for January to June of 2020 with a total amount of $82,748.56.

Chairman Lawrence Tikaram said the payment was the reflection for two key messages; “ability to pay and ability to recognise our people during turbulence and challenging times.”

“Despite the tough times in 2020-2021, our staff have been resilient.”

As a team we have been able to turn the business around, grow progressively towards achieving a fair return to our shareholders and most importantly being able to deliver our retained profits and earnings for  the company,” Mr Tikaram said.

He added that it was only possible through good leadership, good management and good people Post Fiji has.

In the last five years, Post Fiji had paid out a total bonus of half-a-million dollars.

“Post Fiji has reshaped our model, the way we do business, how we interact with our customers and the way we embrace challenges like we did during the COVID pandemic.”

The money will be distributed among 301 staff.

This year, Post Fiji is moving to a Performance Measurement System which would equally reward staff based on their performances.

Performance will be measured by the job description and key performance indicators (KPI).

So it’s a step up from the bonus system and I am sure that staff will embrace that, Mr Tikaram says.

Mr Tikaram thanked the Government, CEO and staff members for their contributions and hard-work.

“We have to be mindful that as we adjourned we have to continue to look at ways to inculcate new ideas, to ensure Post Fiji remains at the forefront of value and adding services for consumers and customers in Fiji.”

Sitiveni Sigani who has been working at Post Fiji for more than four years was thankful that his hard work was recognised.

He welcomed the new payment system and said it was only fair that staff get paid according to their input and performance.
