Food A Challenge For Vegetarians At Mini Games

There are not many options for Team Fiji vegetarians at the Pacific Mini Games, which officially opens in Saipan today.
Team Fiji Chef de Mission, Ajay Ballu, gave an update yesterday.
He said the team had arrived safely in Northern Marianas without any problems.
“The games village was opened on June 14 and the team attended to training schedules,” he said.
“Food is good here with some challenges; not too many options for vegetarians. However, we have spoken to the oraganising committee on this.”
Tactical meeting for baseball and tennis was held yesterday, with tennis kicking off before the opening.
Team Fiji baseball will face Guam on Saturday at 4pm (Fiji Time) at Francisco “Tan Ko” M. Palacios Baseball Field.
“All the venues except triathlon is near to the games village, triathlon is on another island which they will fly after the opening ceremony on Saturday.”
Ballu added teamwork was witnessed mong other Pacific island teams, who steeped in to help them when needed
“It is good to see Fiji triathlon and Palau have been training together, lovely to see the collaboration between Pacific nations,” he said.
“It was fantastic to see Team Fiji fully support our flag bearer Vatunisolo Naibili given the highest honour anyone can be get.”
