Student Interviewed After Drug Find In Prominent West School

Police are investigating the discovery of drugs on a student boarder of a prominent school in the Western Division during the recent Lautoka Zone on Saturday.
It is alleged the substances were discovered in twink pens, which were found after a search was conducted.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed receiving the report.
“We can confirm a report lodged at the Lautoka Police Station. The student has been interviewed and released, The seized substance has been sent for analysis. The discovery was made at the school,” she said.
The Minister for Heritage, Education and Arts, Premila Kumar, said a report was yet to be received regarding the incident, since it occurred at the weekend.
“We did not receive any report over the weekend. We may receive it by Monday, but it might be with the PS (Permanent Secretary for Education),” she said.
