Construction Works Resume At Govind Park

Construction works on Govind Park in Ba has resumed.
This was confirmed yesterday by Lautoka and Ba Board of Special Administrators chairperson Anil Amin.
“It’s good news again, after a lapse of time we managed to take forward this project,” Amin said.
“We’ve already got the contractors working on the site.
“The finish of the first phase which was the pavilion is expected to be completed within a month from now.
“We are now working in parallel to the second phase, that’s the ground and the entire things, including lights, boundary and fence.”
Amin added that he would reveal more on the time once they move on to the second phase of the project.
“We are anticipating, everything to fall in place and we should be able to host a tournament from next year,” he added.
The project cost is $4.9million.
The park severely damaged in 2016 by Tropical Cyclone Winston and then construction works were halted due to the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
