Saneem Shuts Down Disinformation On Military Personnel Voting
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem.

The Fijian Elections Office has rubbished claims that voting inside of Republic of Fiji Military Forces premises would lead to soldiers being coerced into voting for selected candidates.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has clearly stated that this was not going to be the case.

“Anyone making claims otherwise is preposterous and at the most direct disinformation,” Mr Saneem said.

This was the latest rumour making rounds on social media.

“With two General Elections, Fijians relate such claims with their experiences realising how false it is,” Mr Saneem said.

“People sitting out of Fiji, having never voted, seem to be drawing up theories to diminish the credibility of the electoral process.”

Before the upcoming General Elections dates are finalised, Writ would need to be issued. So far, we have nine registered political parties and two parties awaiting registration.
