Miller: Our Athletes Set To Compete

The FMF Athletics Fiji team at the 2022 Pacific Mini Games are all set to kick off things in Saipan. Head coach and manager Albert Miller (Snr) said they are in good spirits, injury free and ready to compete.
The team spent the last couple of days getting used to the humid weather, scorching sun, and the brand-new track at the Oleai Sports Complex.

The athletics competition started later yesterday with five athletes taking to the track.
Pacific sprtin king Banuve Tabakaucoro, Tony Lemeki, Lasarusa Senibale and Braelynn Yee in the heats of the 100metres while Avikash Lal in the final of the men’s 10,000m. The athletes also received their bibs on Monday night at the Grandvrio Resort during their team briefing.

Team Fiji Baseball went down 13-3 to Guam in their second match.
Weightlifter Daniel Shaw finished 6th in the men’s 67kg category with a snatch of 86kg and C&J of 115kg for a total of 201kg. Meanwhile, Team Fiji golfers started their competition yesterday. The course was closed off to spectators so photos were taken from the 10th hole.

3 bronze medals for Alowesi
Team Fiji weightlifter Alowesi Aditoroleva competing in the women’s 59kg category managed a snatch of 67kg and Clean & Jerk of 85kg for a total of 152kg to finish third.
