$25m Wages Paid To FSC Workers Last Year

Fiji Sugar Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Bhan Singh says a total of $25million in wages was paid to all FSC employees last year.
Mr Singh made this comment while speaking at the official opening of the crushing season at the Rarawai Mill in Ba yesterday.
Alongside this, he added that more than $100million was paid to the growers for the cane harvested in the season.
He said this season FSC expected a better crop and a lot more revenue.
Mr Singh said despite the damaging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, FSC was confident and focused on 2022.
Mr Singh also highlighted that FSC was engaged in expanding field operations to increase cane growth, improve cane quality, have the best varieties and to get new technology into farming and cane delivery aspects.
“The Sugar Research has also engaged some very qualified people to assist the cane quality and cane farm productivity aspects,” Mr Singh added.
“We have full confidence and are optimistic that operations at the mill will progress smoothly and the season will be successful.”.
