Vateitei Grabs Second Silver

Elenoa Vateitei has won her second silver medal, in the V1 Va’a marathon with a time of 1 hour 48 minutes, yesterday. The gold medal was won by Tahiti while bronze was to Norfolk Islands.
On Wednesday night, Pacific sprint king Banuve Tabakaucoro clocked a time of 10.56s to win the blue ribbon event and Fiji’s second gold medal.
Also on the night, Charlie Lolohea won three silver medals in the weightlifting men’s 96kg category, Snatch 115kg and Clean and Jerk of 153kg, giving a total of 268kg. Fiji’s Triathletes have won bronze medal in the relay event on the island of Rota.
In tennis, Saoirse Breen lost 4-6, 3-5 to Papua New Guines in the Women’s Single semifinal. Breen will play against PNG’s Patricia’s Apisah in the bronze playoff today. William O’Connell lost 4-6, 6-7, 2-7 to PNG in the men’s single semifinal. He will play against Tahiti’s Gilliant Osmont in the bronze medal playoff today.
