Vodafone Steps In To Back Flying Fijians

Vodafone Fiji is the official sponsor of the Flying Fijians for the World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup, which kicks off at the ANZ Stadium in Suva, next Saturday, July 2.
The Vodafone Flying Fijians is to face Tonga, Samoa and Australia A in a three-week competition, with the second and third round to be played at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
Also, it was confirmed yesterday that talks are ongoing as Vodafone
Vodafone is also having discussions with FRU in terms of a long term sponsorship for the national rugby team
Vodafone Fiji chief marketing officer Rajnesh Prasad said that rugby is at the heart of our nation and it brings out cheers and highlights the true spirit of togetherness.
Prasad indicated the sum will not be disclosed as per agreement with Fiji Rugby Union.
“The amount we have with FRU is quite significant,” Prasad said.
“We are keen to renew and take things forward.
“We are looking at Fijiana, Flying Fijians and all our existing sponsorship.
“We doing a review with all our sponsorship with FRU and see what are the things we can take forward.”
FRU chief executive John O’Connor extended his gratitude to Vodafone Fiji for the generous support towards the July international meets.
“The partnership will give our brand a stronger global presence as fans will also have an opportunity to witness world-class professional Flying Fijians playing after two years.
O’Connor added: “We are thankful to Vodafone for their steadfast support and their loyalty and ongoing trust through sponsoring the Flying Fijians for the Pacific Nations Cup”.
Vodafone’s long-term association with sports and long-standing partnerships have yielded impressive results over the years, whether in local or international tournaments.

- Secondary Schools (Deans Trophy)
- National Under-20 rugby team
- Vanua Championship (16 provincial district teams)
- And its latest commitment- Fijian Drua (Super Rugby Pacific)
Vodafone was also the Flying Fijians sponsor for the Northern Tour last year.
