Northern U19 Rugby League Team To Tour Viti Levu

The Northern Secondary School Under-19 rugby league side had a warm-up game during their training session at the Khalsa College ground in Labasa, this morning.
Speaking to SUNsports, development officer Sanaila Dretivoli said the players are looking forward to their curtain raiser match against the Viti Levu Selection at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, next Saturday.
“We’ll be playing before the under-19 final of the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools rugby league,” he said.
Dretivoli said the team consists of students who attend the following schools: Savusavu Secondary School, St Bede’s College, Saqani Secondary School, Navatu Secondary School, Dreketi Central College, Seaqaqa Central College, Khalsa College, Waiqele Secondary School, All Saints Secondary School and Naleba College.
“We’ve been training during weekends and today we played a Vunivau rugby league side and we managed to outscore them by five tries to nil.
The players look forward to coming over to play in Viti Levu and learn more about the game,” he added.
Dretivoli said the side would leave Vanua Levu on Thursday and they would be camping at Lelean Memorial School in Davuilevu.
