Tavua College Tops

Tavua College won the overall titles for the boys and girls divisions of the Ra/ Tavua/ Vatukoula/ Nadarivatu Zone at Garvey Park, Tavua, on Friday.
Tavua College bagged 23 gold medals, 18 silvers and 23 bronze. Coming in second was Ra High School with 21 gold, 18 silvers and 16 bronze medals while Penang Sangam High School was third with 15 gold, 23 silvers and 14 bronze medals.
Zone meet president Mosese Cawanivatu said the new school to join their annual meet was Nakorotubu Secondary School from Ra.
“This year our competition was tougher compared to previous years,” he said.
“We are so thankful to have a new school participating this year and altogether there are 11 schools taking part.
“All the best athletes from the zone took part and we have produced top athletes in the past five years like Yeshnil Karan who is taking part at the Pacific Mini Games and also Waisale Dausoko.”
Penang Sangam High School’s Sailosi Nasausila scooped a gold medal in the blue ribbon event clocking a time of 11.05seconds.
“I will be gearing up for the Coca-Cola Games so that I can bring home the gold medal. I am happy for my achievement and I thank God, my teachers and my team,” he said.

Boy’s division:
1: Tavua College- 13 gold, 6 silver, 11 bronze,
2: Penang Sangam High School- 12 gold, 10 silvers, 7 bronze,
Girl’s division:
- Tavua College- 10 gold, 12 silvers, 13 bronze,
- Ra High School- 20 gold medals, 13 silvers, 9 bronze,
- Nakauvadra High School- 3 gold medals, 5 silvers, 4 bronze
