Terio Tamani never thought that he would one day become a Police Officer and thanked the Fiji Police Force for giving him the opportunity to prove himself.

The 27-year-old is a well-known name in Fiji and this is because he had donned the white jersey in sevens rugby.

The Ravitaki, Kadavu native believes nothing comes easy.

“I will never forget today because I was able to pass out with my younger brother and we made sure to encourage and motivate each other throughout our training,” Constable Tamani said.

“I will ensure that throughout my career as a Police officer I will maintain discipline. The uniform I am wearing today comes with a lot of responsibilities and the task ahead of me will not be an easy one.

“I will ensure that I work with other Police officers to ensure that everyone feels safe in their communities.”

Tamani was a special constable for three years and on Friday he was one of the 190 recruits that passed out.

The father of two said he was hoping to make a comeback to the sevens team.

“I know that there are some of the boys that can really play that are already in the team but I will try my best to be part of the Fiji 7’s team again,” he said.

“If I am given a chance to play for Fiji I am always ready to give my best.
