A-G Praises TISI Sangam’s Community Teamwork

Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has praised the continued collaboration between the community, and the Then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam Fiji.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum made those comments while officiating at the $50,000 Nalovo Sangam School hall, outside Nadi on Saturday.
He applauded and also appreciated efforts of the TISI Sangam Fiji to ensure that many schools they run in Fiji will continue to provide educational facilities and educational access to all young people in this country.
“In schools like this many people have achieved education and many have become teachers, doctors, lawyers and engineers,”Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
“In any country, if you look throughout history, it can only be strong if it invests in its people.”
“It’s critically important because today’s young children will be our leaders.”
He congratulated TISI Sangam Fiji for continuing to collaborate with the community in Nadi to ensure the school is functioning; understandably the school roll is just 69.
“We are looking at these matters from a development perspective.”
“The building of these halls obviously ensures that they will be able to provide the infrastructure,” he said.
School legal advisor and former school alumni, Mun Sami Chetty, said last year with the help of TISI Sangam Fiji’s Nadi branch it started up the school hall which was completed this year.
