Gollings To Finalise Commonwealth Squad Today

The Fijian men’s rugby sevens team is on a mission – to win their first Commonwealth Games gold.
Fiji 7s head coach Ben Gollings says the team for the Commonwealth Games will be finalised today.
He arrived with the team at Nadi International Airport after participating at the Oceania Super Sevens competition in Auckland against New Zealand, Tonga and Australia.
“For us it wasn’t really about the results,” Gollings said.
He also used the tournament to test out France-based wingers Aminiasi Tuimaba and Savenaca Rawaca.
The two-time Olympic Games gold medallists won the Commonwealth Games silver medal in 2018 at the Gold Coast, Australia.
“It was more about getting game time. We learnt a lot, which was great. We could use a lot of that learnings in the next five weeks prior to the Commonwealth Games.
The Birmingham Commonwealth Games is on July 28 to August 8.
France-based Sireli Maqala, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Kavekini Tabu and Paula Dransinukula are also part of the training squad that is in camp.
The side will also depart for England on July 7 before they report to the Commonwealth Games village on July 22.
